防水透气膜（透气纸）是一种新型高分子防水材料。在制造工艺方面，透气防水膜的技术要求显著高于传统防水材料。此外，在质量方面，透气防水膜具备其他防水材料所缺乏的功能特性。防水透气膜主要由三层构成：PP纺粘无纺布、PE高分子透气膜和PP纺粘无纺布。纺粘无纺布的主要作用是提高抗拉强度和静水压，同时保护中间层（透气膜）。实际的透气性是通过中间层的PE高分子透气膜实现的。
它主要用于建筑领域的混凝土、砌体墙、钢结构和木结构等，主要应用于建筑屋顶和墙体的防水工程。
防水透气膜可用于混凝土、砌体墙、钢结构和木结构、瓦屋面及钢结构屋面等结构的防水与透气。该产品铺设在建筑屋顶或墙体的保温层之上，利用其防水透气特性，一方面可最大程度地保护保温材料免受外部潮气侵入，另一方面能有效确保围护结构内部的湿气排出，从而使保温层和建筑结构长期保持良好状态，实现节能、提高建筑耐久性，并保证室内空气品质。
